Minimum Viable Product Development – Media Streaming and Group Sharing App

Created a media streaming and sharing app that included RSVP features, live interactions, group invitations, etc., for groups.
Client

The virtual film festival organizer's client wanted to launch a new function called Spotlight Group Sharing. This function enabled users to enjoy movies with loved ones through video calls, boosting the social and interactive elements of the online film festival process. The client wanted the group sharing feature to attract a larger audience.

Challenge

The main obstacle was quickly incorporating a third-party video call tool into the platform. The system had to handle host and participant controls for video, microphone, and audio access while maintaining smooth performance for live events. Furthermore, the platform needed to handle large quantities of video calls without sacrificing quality.

Solution

Scalevista worked with the client to provide the Spotlight Group Sharing feature as a minimum viable product (MVP). By thoughtfully incorporating the video call tool, we guaranteed hosts could efficiently handle interactions, while the platform was enhanced to manage a high volume of video traffic easily.

Tech Stack

Results : Integrating a third-party video call tool presented a hurdle.

  • Watch movies together virtually : The platform replicated the communal movie-watching experience of a theater by enabling users to watch films from their homes simultaneously. This digital environment fostered unity, allowing attendees to watch movies with friends or other festival attendees.
  • Engage with filmmakers and peers : Interact with filmmakers and peers: Participants engaged in live Q&A sessions with filmmakers, enhancing their connection with the films. These conversations provided a rare opportunity to inquire and understand the filmmaking process.
  • Host and manage watch parties : Users can easily coordinate private or public watch parties by inviting friends or fellow film fans to participate. The platform provides strong controls for overseeing video and audio settings, guaranteeing every participant a seamless and personalized experience.
  • Interactive group setting : The platform provided a collaborative space for users to enjoy the same sense of community as they would in a traditional theater. Thanks to interactive chat and video features, participants can have real-time discussions about films with a theater-like experience.
  • Accessibility beyond borders : Unlike traditional in-person events, this digital platform went beyond geographic limits, enabling a worldwide audience to participate. It eliminated venue capacity restrictions, allowing more viewers to join without being limited by location.
  • User-friendly platform : The platform’s simple layout allowed users to easily navigate various features, from buying tickets to participating in events. Thanks to user-friendly menus, users could quickly join in viewing events and adjust preferences.

Special Highlights of the App Include:

  • Seamless Media Streaming : The platform provided high-definition streaming that adjusted to different devices and network situations, guaranteeing viewers a flawless, uninterrupted playback experience. Advanced buffering technology was used to avoid delays, ensuring a consistent viewing experience regardless of connection quality. Users can expect consistent, high-quality media delivery on smartphones, tablets, and desktops.
  • Spotlight Group Sharing : This function enabled users to view content simultaneously with friends and family via built-in video calls, fostering a collaborative viewing experience. By syncing the video on every participant’s screen, the platform allowed instant reactions and discussions, mirroring the sensation of being in the same place. This unique feature improved the social element of streaming, making content viewing more interactive and communal.
  • Real-Time Chat & Reactions : The platform offered users a built-in chat feature for real-time discussions and reactions while viewing content, encouraging active engagement. Users could also enhance the interactive experience by instantly sharing reactions such as emojis or comments while chatting. These live tools promoted unplanned involvement, enabling audience members to share their feelings and interact with each other during the live broadcast.
  • Management and Control of Users : Hosts had complete control of the streaming setting, being able to regulate access to video, audio, and chat features for the duration of the session. This feature enabled a more structured experience, minimizing interruptions and guaranteeing safety while streaming in a group. Hosts can effortlessly silence participants, control permissions, and ensure a seamless and pleasant viewing experience for all participants.
